2017 has been a year of travel so far with Concerts & Projects at home in Australia plus overseas in Scotland, Spain, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines & India, and it’s still August! I’m currently back in India working as a volunteer in Goa and my “Skills for Girls” project is beginning to take shape. I also recorded six original tracks in Australia earlier this year for my new CD. The album, my ninth to date, will include collaborations with incredible International Artists from Australia, Singapore, UK, USA, Thailand, Indonesia & Holland but I’m keeping the names under wraps for now 🙂 I’ll update later with the progress. I will be travelling between Australia & Asia for the rest of the year for performances, workshops and recordings.
Highlights so far: Performing with great artists, Koh Saxman at Concerts & Festivals in Thailand & Jeremy Monteiro at concerts in Singapore and China. MC for the second year at the Singapore International Jazz Festival. Meeting and interviewing, David Foster, Esperanza Spalding, Ray Parker Jnr, Bluey from Incognito and Corinne Bailey Rae. Sing Jazz Jam Session.
2016 Highlight: My regular visit to Larde de St Thereza Children’s Orphanage in Goa, India in January. I’m setting up a programme called “Skills for Girls” where artists & academics will help equip the girls with various skills to help them find future employment, build confidence & have fun. MC for the Singapore International Jazz Festival. Meeting the incredible Joss Stone, Candy Dulfur & Level 42.
2015 Highlights: .A successful performances in – Japan, (First visit) Philippines & Singapore plus fifty six concerts in Malaysia alone, with The James Flynn Quartet. Celebrating Sinatra’s 100th birthday in Perth with a concert at the Ellington Jazz Club on the day of his actual birthday, 12th December. Plus Christmas and New year performances in Semarang, Indonesia
2014 Highlights: The Dave Koz, Alaskan jazz cruise. Performing with the Dave Koz band featuring Keb Mo. Singing with The Bobby Caldwell big band, winning the 2014 Dave Koz ‘So you think you can jam award’ Opening on the main stage for The Summer Horns ( Dave Koz, Gerald Albright Music, Mindi Abair & Richard Elliot.) Getting to meet and hang out with jazz legends, Chris Botti, Oletta Adams, Gerald Albright Music, Mindi Adair, Earl Klugh and Johnathan Butler. My First visit & Jazz Festival in China with The Adrian Kelly Quartet @ The Chongqing
